Change an LPG Cylinder
There are different kinds of sources that could power forklifts. They can run using LP gas or liquid propane, gasoline, diesel or battery. LP is a clean burning fuel preferred for various applications. There are various facilities which have large liquid propane supplies on site. This enables forklifts to be refueled anytime they need. In other places, the facility would have spare LP cylinders that could be changed out when the equipment should be refueled.
When changing out an LP cylinder, you should really be careful in order to prevent possible serious injuries. Like for instance: be sure to put on the correct safety equipment such as safety glasses or goggles and heavy gloves. Turn off the forklift ignition before changing out the tank. Then, close the cylinder valve by turning it until it is closed securely. Use your hand to loosen the hose connection to the tank. Remember that it will turn in the opposite direction of a standard connection and never use a metal tool or any kind of wrench on these connections. They are meant to be tightened only by utilizing the hand.
