Kinds of Man Lifts
Scissor man lifts are made to vertically hoist workers to higher areas. They are often seen in the construction business in order to transport or raise employees form one place to another. Man lifts are power-driven and offer special handholds and steps or platforms to provide safe transport. The kind of construction work being done would decide precisely which kind of man lift will be used in a project.
Electrically Insulated Man Lifts
Electrically insulated man lifts are a type of lift which is preferred for working in close proximity to electrocution hazards, according to Man and Material Lift Engineering. The electrically insulated man lifts offer protection to workers against accidental electrocution. These machinery follow the American National Standards Institute A92.2 Category C, 46kV Rated. These electrically insulated man lifts offer fiberglass insulated booms, fiber optic control cables and are operated on nonconductive hydraulic hoses which serve to reduce ground error.
Scissor Lifts
Scissor lifts are a special type of aerial man lift that is meant to transport personnel vertically to difficult-to-reach places. The scissor lift derived its name because of the scissor kind of design of the folding supports which could raise and lower the platform. In order to raise the lift, each one of the folding supports is opened so as to extend the platform to higher heights.
The scissor lift would either be powered hydraulically or manually. The hydraulic powered system does not depend on power, however allows the scissor lifts to descend with just a release of hydraulic pressure. Since the potential of mechanical malfunctions preventing the platform from descending to the ground suddenly is eliminated, at the end of the day, hydraulic systems make safer scissor lifts.
Capacity
Man lifts are designed in a huge range of weight capacities. Some man lifts have the capability to only hold numerous people while others have the ability to hold one individual. Platform lifts and scissor lifts are more conducive for transporting many individuals, since boom lifts have less space located in their bucket.
