Types of Aisles
Wide Aisle and Narrow Aisle lift trucks are classed due to the kinds of aisles they have been designed to operate in. These equipments can turn in an aisle, whilst Very Narrow Aisle trucks actually don't turn within the aisle. There are some aisle widths to consider with different models.
Very Narrow Aisle or VNA trucks operate in less than 6 feet areas and usually utilize particular guidance systems such as rail, wire or optical systems in order to travel within the aisles. Some various models of VNA trucks comprise Turret Trucks, Swing Masts and Order Selectors. These are popular models in tight retail areas and in several warehouse and storage situations.
Narrow Aisle or NA trucks can work in aisles that are 8 feet to 10 feet. Usually these are stand-up units such as Reach Trucks. They are usually used within storage facilities and warehouses.
The wide aisle forklift is designed to work in aisles more than 8 feet to 10 feet.
Stand-Up Ergonomics
The stand-up ergonomics include "Ergomat" padding with a sloped floorboard which is designed to reduce operator fatigue by absorbing vibration. The operator compartment is spacious and has an 8" low step height that helps lessen overall body fatigue by easing frequent exit and entry. The unit consists of polyurethane steer tires to absorb vibration and shocks caused by uneven floor in order to enable smooth traveling. For additional comfort, there is a cushioned armrest and floor mat as well as a backrest designed to help keep operators comfortable and hence more productive while limiting fatigue.
